I was noticing the moon
The other night.
It’s a waning moon
And that feels right
As I let go of the
Great round orb
That was my life.
I’ve watched it
Shave down to
A faint shiver
And the waning
Had me terrified
Fearing
That I would
Cease to be.
That I would
Writhe and thrash
And perish in agony.
And I did.
And it was dark
For a long three days
Months
Years
And now
A new moon
Peeks out
Beckoning me
To play
To joy
To spring
To things
That finally
Matter
